    The new rules for 24h du Mans category LMP1 ( the more sophisticated hybrid prototype ) are very interesting : better than fix the type of engine or displacement, the rule limits the quantity of energy recovering + the quantity of fuel consumed per lap, and also the fuel flow, a way to limit the max power but encouraging improved efficiency .

    The result ? The consumption is reduced by 30% with same or better performance !

    There are  4 categories of energy recovering : from 2 to 8 MJ per lap : the more energy you recover, the less fuel you can burn, however the sum energy recovering + energy from fuel is higher in the 8 MJ category than 6, 4 then 2 category .  Complicated ? Yes…

    Lightweighting, to limit the weight to 870 kg
