Deutsche Post subsidiary DHL is aiming to be active in the online food

retail market in all metropolitan areas in Germany by 2015, according to

Andrej Busch, CEO of DHL Parcel Germany. Following a pilot project in

Cologne, DHL has started food deliveries in cities such as Bochum,

Gelsenkirchen, Essen, Mülheim, Duisburg and Dortmund at the beginning of

July 2013. Berlin is to follow in autumn 2013. The customers can choose

between two delivery times. They can have their food orders delivered

    between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. or between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. The food comes in

chilled delivery boxes, which are taken back again by the  delivery

service. Bosch said that the online food deliveries supplement DHL's

existing service portfolio. DHL has a direct stake in online food retailer

Allyouneed. In addition, its partners include REWE online, Biodirekt and

    Mytime.
